Tsuchi, you exceeded my expectations! This place is absolutely amazing, and I will be back. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this place, apart from the limited seating, but that’s really minor. The food is to die for, and Tsuchi is doing god’s work for vegans, providing Japanese options that I haven’t seen anywhere else. The yuzu citron tart was light, creamy, well-flavoured, well-portioned, and stunning to look at. The katsu sando was also quite good, and the spicy beef curry with rice and karaage is amazing. Generally, the portions here are quite generous. The only thing I had that I don’t feel is worth the money for size is the miso caramel macchiato, which is $7 for a rather small cup. It’s also not quite the visual experience of some of the other drinks, such as the moku moku tiramisu drink (which tastes like a very good sweet cream cold brew from Starbucks). The ambience and decor of this place is so charming and classic. If you can get a seat and you don’t mind the hustle bustle, it’s a great place to do work. If you are vegan or enjoy vegan food, you must go here. I don’t make the rules, you just have to.
Delicious, authentic Japanese vegan cafe. Loved it. Seating is very minimal and they don’t have any ramen spoons however
They have real Japanese croquettes here! Only one flavour, but still. They have other unique flavors too, like a tart with matching and pistachio. I love the coquette, though, here known as Kare Pan!
Tried their matcha mochi filled donut yesterday and my life is changed. A calming space with delicious food offerings and drink! Worth a visit for sure!
I know that I just got here, but this is my favorite cafe in Toronto by far. And it's also the first one I tried too, so I'm definitely starting on a high note. They had alot of things to choose from: various coffees and teas, pastries and other goodies in the glass, along with vegan entrees too. I just wanted to try their Iced Hojicha Latte + oat milk, and I couldn't help but find the Matcha Tiramisu. It caught my eye and I before I knew it, I took one to go. There wasn't much seating in this cafe but I managed to find a table for myself a couple minutes after getting my order. My Hojicha latte was perfect. It was earthy, nutty, and had the perfect level of sweetness. The hojicha and creaminess from the oat milk paired together very well. And the Matcha Tiramisu? Wow. It felt like deconstructed Matcha Tiramisu which I still love. The mascarpone cream was rich, light, and tasted so good with the matcha dipped lady fingers. The lady fingers had an interesting texture to me. It wasn't as soft as I'd expected, maybe it disintegrated a little because of the heat. I refrigerated it after right after I got home, but maybe the heat still got to it. It was still delicious to me. It was nice to feel reminiscent of my time in Japan. I loved it all and had a great time. Service was excellent, the cashier was friendly and easy going. Next time I'll have to come back and try their vegan food. Tsuchi Cafe deserves all the stars and all the love. I'm a big fan! And I look forward to my next visit :)
We stopped by Tsuchi Cafe and ordered both the cold and hot hojicha latte. The hot one was definitely our favorite - rich, smooth, and full of flavor. The silky flan was also excellent, perfectly creamy and not too sweet. A friendly surprise came from the table next to us - the guy was having a pistachio matcha tart and mentioned it’s only available on weekends. We couldn’t resist ordering it, and wow… it was amazing! Definitely worth coming back for!
This was one of my favorite places to try and not that hard to get to on bus! The service was super nice and I splurged on so many vegan goods from their shop. I loved the curry bun, ramen, and tiramisu!
Tsuchi is a gem serving authentic Japanese food and drinks that are all plant based! I loved the Hojicha latte with oat milk and no sweetener - had it hot and it was delicious, earthy, nutty, smooth with smoky sweet notes. It also has low caffeine compared to matcha. I had an iced Matcha latte on another day and it was just okay…I was expecting a stronger taste of the matcha because they sell a god quality one as well but it was quite mild. The green tea pistachio tart was so creamy and not too sweet but I couldn’t finish the entire thing in one sitting. Their miso soup was small but divine with vegetables and very flavourful. Would love to try their ramen next time. Or some of the other food items like the miso bread pudding. Was also pleasantly surprised to see that they carry Hitachino Nest beers which I had in Tokyo and it was one of the best beers I’ve had - but found that it was quite pricey per beer. The vibe is cozy. It was very busy on a Sunday afternoon and got quite noisy when there was a group sitting at a table otherwise people were pretty quiet. There is a small seating area inside, but there is additional seating to enjoy outside. I was able to a get a table inside, however, they have a sign that they don’t allow the use of laptops on the weekends so that the tables can be made available quicker which was a bit different but understandable since it’s so busy with limited seating. When I came by on a Tuesday afternoon it was so quiet so I will probably come on a weekday next time since it’ll be quiet and can work a bit if needed. Either way will definitely be enjoying Tsuchi’s vibe and offerings again!
I’m always looking for new plant based cafés to explore, and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this one is completely vegan after I had already settled in. The atmosphere immediately stood out, calm, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. There are beautiful plants everywhere and a simple, minimal interior that feels both welcoming and inspiring. It’s the kind of place where you could easily spend a quiet morning reading or catch up with a friend over coffee. I ordered an oat latte, and it was perfectly balanced, creamy, smooth, and not too sweet. Alongside it, I tried the buckwheat chocolate cookie that was crunchy on the edges and soft in the middle with a deep chocolate flavor that paired nicely with the coffee. Everything about the experience felt intentional, from the way the space is curated to the quality of the ingredients. It’s always exciting to find a vegan spot that focuses on flavor and comfort without being overly complicated. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to anyone who enjoys good food and good vibes.
This place has amazed me ever since I discovered their pop-up at the 2024 Taste of Italy festival. Everything I've ordered from here has been stellar, with the exception of the Hot Coco which I found to taste rather artificial. The desserts are unique and taste remarkably fresh, as if they were made minutes earlier. Definitely something worth trying here. The Japanese decor interior is charming, but I feel the seating arrangements could be designed a bit more orderly. The bench against the front window is diagonal to the adjacent wall (rather than perpendicular), and positions the person seated in the corner at an angle from the space in front of them, which can feel a bit awkward for them and anyone they might be seated opposite from. Overall, this place is a plant-based gem that I'll always be glad to visit in future.
